Occupy movement protestors set up camp in downtown Jacksonville late last year, and one councilman has tried for weeks to have their protests shut down.
His most recent attempt was to set up his own camp.
City councilman Don Redman has stationed a table with two folding chairs outside the City Hall entrance.
"I'm part of the 99.9 percent that I don't belong to this group next door to me here, and I think it's time for them to go and get on with their business, if they have any," Redman said Thursday morning while sitting outside.
Also on Redman's table are stacks of religious pamphlets, cards about services for the homeless and a sign that reads "Councilman Redman's Desk."
