JACKSONVILLE -

Pre-orders have already broken records for the new iPhone 5.

George Sammet, who works at AT&T, said he expects to see a crowd. He said his team is ready for it.

"Our folks will be arriving at our stores as early as 6 a.m. We will have a full staff in place and everyone is excited," Sammet said.

Lines of excited soon-to-be iPhone 5 owners have already begun at various stores across the country in anticipation of its release.

Wes Krosniki won’t be in it, but he wishes he were.

"Just financial concerns, other than that I'd be the first one in line. I'm a fan," said Krosniki.

So what’s all the hype about? Last week, Apple took the wraps off its iPhone 5 and showed off more than 200 new features in its iOS 6 operating system which includes higher resolution and a thinner, bigger screen.

Expectations are running high that Apple will sell tens of millions of iPhone 5 within a few weeks, blowing past previous sales.

There is such a high demand it has exceeded supply. Those ordering the phone online now may have a three to four week wait for their purchase to arrive.
