Deputies: Man Burglarized Home Twice In Week
Columbia County deputies have arrested a man accused of burglarizing the same home twice last week.
Deputies said Scott Salanci, 24, of Fort White, burglarized the home on Southeast Golf Club Avenue last Tuesday, stealing jewelry and money.
On Friday, a deputy was called to a burglary in progress at the home just before 9 p.m.
The deputy said he saw the suspect flee from the home, and the deputy chased the suspect on foot.
Deputies said Salanci climbed over several fences in the neighborhood to try to elude the deputy. Investigators said the deputy was able to stun Salanci with a Taser.
Salanci was arrested, and the deputy said he found additional stolen money on him.
Salanci was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility on two counts of burglary, two counts of grand theft and resisting arrest without violence. His bail was set at $52,000.
