COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -

A 21-year-old Lake City man was arrested after an extensive search Tuesday in connection with a business burglary the day before.

Columbia County deputies said Cody Dover stole several vehicle batteries from the business and sold them to a secondary recycling business.

Dover's vehicle was spotted about 4 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Northwest Taft and Northwest Cheswick Street. Deputies learned by a passenger in the vehicle that Dover had fled the area on foot.

K-9 units tracked Dover for more than six hours in the area of County Road 25A and U.S. Highway 41 North. Dover was found in a wooded area off U.S. 41 North about 10:20 p.m.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility on charges of dealing in stolen property. Additional charges on Dover are likely as the investigation moves forward, deputies said.
