A teen was arrested Friday on allegations of having a shotgun and ammunition at his Marion County high school.
The 14-year-old ninth-grader was arrested after another student heard about the gun and reported it to officials at North Marion High School at 151 West Highway 329 in Citra.
"We have zero tolerance for weapons. We'll deal with the student as far as discipline goes," said Kevin Christian, spokesman for Marion County Schools.
Officials said the shotgun was not loaded, but ammunition was discovered on campus.
Deputies continue to investigate, but no other details have been released.
No one was injured.
