3 We're told it started when a Putnam county woman, Diana Conner, called 9-1-1 and said she was afraid that an intruder was outside her home. That call later escalated into a violent confrontation with sheriff's deputies. It happened early this morning, at a residence on Twin Lakes Grove Drive in Interlachen .. in western Putnam county. Channel 4's Hailey Winslow has been looking into the shooting .. She's joining us live from the Sheriff's Office to tell us why police believe the woman brought out a gun.Hailey. 3 3 3 14-1934-391'07-1'12 State investigators take pictures and collect evidence at the home. after county deputies shot a woman who they say first fired at them...61-year old Diana Conners called 911 and said someone was messing with her A/C unit and well. A Putnam County deputy responded, checked out her home on Twin Lake Grove Drive, and tried to talk to the woman to tell her everything was fine... But Conners wouldn't go outside because she didn't believe he was a deputy...She called her nextdoor neighbor Jackie Price... When she wouldn't go out, the deputy left...and Conners called Price and her other neighbors all night.When neighbors got tired of the calls, they called the sheriff's office to come back... 2 deputies responded... and found Conners in her driveway with a rifle... she fired, and investigators say Deputy Thomas Burger returned fire, hitting Conners 4 times. 3 Hailey ... any word why Conner apparently did not believe these were real deputies?
