Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office are seeking information on the identities of several people involved in several shootings last week.
Deputies said several people were involved in an escalating series of events that led to at least two, possibly three incidents of gunfire near West King Street. Deputies were called to the shootings about 6:35 p.m. Oct. 16. They said a car was possibly shot at near South Nassau and West King streets.
In the second incident, a different vehicle was shot at near West King Street, and the third shooting occurred on Collier Street, adjacent to Murray Middle School.
At least three vehicles and one home have been struck with gunfire, deputies said.
During the investigation, detectives served a search warrant at a west side home last Wednesday, which resulted in the recovery of a .380 handgun, along with shell casings believed to be evidence in this investigation, deputies said.
Detectives said they would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any of these shootings last week. Anyone with any information concerning the investigation is asked to call Detective Gene Tolbert at the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office at 904-209-3985 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS.
