Neighbors in LAKESHORE are remembering a man -- whose life was taken in a crash. 52-year-old Edward Roberts -- who you see here -- was hit by a car Sunday morning -- as he crossed the street -- in his MOTORIZED wheelchair -- at Roosevelt Boulevard and BIRKEN-HEAD Road. Police say the driver of the car had a green light, and will not face charges. Those who knew Roberts -- say his death is a big loss to their community. TRACK Mary Lysitt is heartbroken over the death of her next door neighbor, Edward Roberts. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says Roberts was hit by a car as he crossed the street at Roosevelt and Birkenhead in his motorized wheelchair Sunday night. 56:59--57:10 "it's just so strange, because he was just such a common sight to everybody. All the kids knew him, everybody knew him. Everybody has known him for years." TRACK Lysitt says she used to take food over to the home where Roberts lived with his father.She says the two took good care of each other, and says Roberts had a great presence in the neighborhood...and never allowed his limited mobility get the best of him. 49:56--50:05 "He dressed up every year at Christmas and every year ar Halloween with the kids. He'd put on costumes and ride around with his big mask on."
