3 An undercover sting lands more than a dozen people behind bars... after the Clay County Sheriff's Office says they tried to solicit sex from minors online. "Operation Wrong Destination" was a five-day investigation that authorities say every parent needs to know about. Channel 4's Adrienne Moore just spoke with detectives ... And joins us LIVE in Green Cove Springs to tell us HOW they were able to nab these suspects so quickly..Adrienne? 3 Investigators say "Operation Wrong Destination" should be a BIG wake-up call to parents. Undercover officers posed as young girls on different social media sites... and within five days... they had men flying and driving here to Northeast Florida.... to meet up and have sex with them. And some traveled as far away as Pennsylvania... to do it. 3 Col. Craig Aldrich/Clay County Sheriff's Office 13:51-14:17 The 16 men were booked on felony charges of traveling to meet a minor to engage in unlawful sex... and using a two-way communication device to facilitate that act. The men all range in age from 20-to-53..many of them are married with NO criminal record. And their occupations run the gamut - some are unemployed... while others are pizza delivery workers, truck drivers... even active duty military personnel. This undercover sting was done just last week...and involved multiple agencies... including the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Investigators say the goal was two-fold with this operation... First - they wanted to keep these dangerous child predators off the streets... AND also...want this to serve as an educational tool for parents. They say it's important to create a dialogue with your children about the dangers lurking behind that computer monitor or cell phone ... and stressed the need to monitor their internet activity, including their passwords and social media accounts. And we just received word that a few of them just recently... posted that bond.Investigators say it's possible more arrests could be made in the coming days and weeks.In Clay County, AM, Ch. 4., TLS. Adrienne, were the majority of the people arrested local .... or from other parts of the state and country? Answer: 12 of the 16 are local men... the other 4 are from Georgia, Alabama and Pennsylvania.
