Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to house fire on Jacksonville's Eastside Saturday night and took a man inside the home to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters responded to the home at 1541 Wambolt Street and found heavy smoke inside the home.

A man inside was removed by first responders and taken to Shands Medical Center to be treated.

His name and condition was not released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
