A police officer received minor injuries early Sunday morning when an SUV turned left in front of a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office cruiser, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 1 a.m. when the SUV driven by David Mendenhall, 29, turned left off Beach Boulevard onto Anniston Road in front of the police cruiser. Officer Randy Eleuteriwas unable to avoid hitting the SUV.
Eleuteriwas suffered minor injuries and was taken to Baptist South as a precaution. Mendenhall was not hurt but was cited for making an improper left turn.
