Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg recently donated a half billion dollars worth of his company's stock to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

The foundation helps donors create philanthropic strategies so that their money can make the most difference around the world.                                                 

Last month, Facebook's Chief Operating Officer, Sheryl Sandberg, donated about $10 million worth of stock to an unidentified recipient.
