Facebook to charge for Zuckerberg message
Part of beta test
For $100, you can send the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg an inbox message.
It's all part of a beta test for a new revenue stream.
Last month, Facebook said it would begin testing paid messages, but didn't say how much they would cost.
Right now, if you inbox people who aren't in your network, it goes to a mailbox most users don't know exists. That's to cut down on spam.
Facebook says it is using the extreme price point as another type of spam filter.
The company is betting that messaging people you don't know would be a privilege worth paying for.
