JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Jacksonville police have released surveillance images from an area bank and asked the public to help them catch a man who robbed the business.

The robbery took place Wednesday morning at the Fifth Third Bank on Merrill Road in Arlington.

Surveillance pictures from the bank show a man wearing a hat with fake dreadlocks covering his face.

According to authorities, the thief approached a teller, placed a note on the counter and told her he had a gun and she was being robbed. He said she should give him all the money and not to look at him.

Police said the teller handed the man the money from her drawer along with a dye pack, and the suspect fled out the front of the bank and the dye pack exploded.

The man was last seen running west across the bank's parking lot.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is urged to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or Crimestoppers at 866-845 TIPS.
