JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Family and friends released balloons at Jacksonville Beach in memory of a 20-year-old woman who was murdered one year ago.

This time last year, Kalil McCoy's family was watching her walk across the stage and receive her high school diploma.

On Saturday, they watched balloons dance in the sky and form the letter "K" in her honor.

In April, a jury found Frederick Wade guilty of second-degree murder. Prosecutors said Wade, 20, shot McCoy in a heated argument over her wanting her window rolled up in the SUV they were in.

Wade faces 25 years to life in prison when he's sentenced.
