A parachutist who was part of the Jacksonville Jaguars halftime show was forced to make an emergency landing outside the stadium Sunday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Members of Lt. Col. Chip Bowlin's team said his main chute failed to deploy and he was forced to use the backup chute and landed safely on the Jaguars' practice field.

"What happened was the lines knotted up and that cause the parachute to dive. He grabbed his right cutaway handle, grabbed his left reserve handle... and the crowd loved it," said Lt. Col. Keith Walter of the Special Operations Parachute Team.
Walter says Bowlin gathered his parachute and walked away from his landing.
Bowlin has 8 to 10 years of experience and has made about 1,500 jumps, but is still considered a junior member of the team.
