The decision on Ron Davis attending the trial .. is just one of three rulings today in the case of Michael Dunn. His trial is scheduled to begin in February in the fatal shooting of Davis 13 months ago in a dispute over loud music. The judge also ruled on taking the jury to the scene ..and on certain clothing that will not be allowed in the courtroom. Channel 4's Kumasi Aaron spoke with Davis' parents and Dunn's attorney after the hearing. Kumasi? 3 3 3 00-0519-2456-1:011:25- 1:2901:26:30-34 A lot of prayer. A lot of prayer. That's how Lucia McBath says she'll be getting ready for Michael Dunn ' s trial. The man accused of murder in the death of her 17 year old son Jordan Davis appeared in court Thursday. Judge Russell Healey ...deciding if Davis father, Ron, would be allowed to stay in the courtroom during his trial.RON DAVIS/FATHER 01:24:59-25:09 "I think that anybody that's a parent that's a brother that's a sister that's a mother or father would want to be there for their son." The judge agreed, despite the defense concern that the jury may be influenced emotionally. Now Davis and the mother of another victim will be allowed to sit in the courtroom before and after they testify. The judge is expecting it to be packed, and also ruled that Davis support ers couldn't wear tshirts or any other items ...with pictures of Jordan on them. .Davis ' parents agreed with that decision, even taking it one step further, telling the court they would show no emotion during the trial.LUCIA MCBATH/MOTHER 01:26:15-25 That will probably be very difficult for both of us but we want to do what's best for the trial we want to do what's best for Jordan and we want to do what's best for justice. The defense also entered a motion to allow the jury to visit the shooting scene during trial. Dunn ' s attorney argued that pictures were not enough for the jury, but the state said it would be impossible to recreate the scene.Judge Healey agreed, citing safety and logistical issues too.A disappointment for Dunn ' s attorney Corey Strolla.CORY STROLLA/DEFENSE ATTORNEY 01:22:07-17 I think it would have helped immensely in finding a verdict. We've got so many witnesses who saw so many different things to actually put them on scene 14 I think would have only benefitted the jury 100%. 3 With the trial date not until February .. what's expected in this case between now and then?
