A Fruit Cove home was extensively damaged by fire Wednesday morning, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
Firefighters responded to the fire in the 1200 block of Tangerine Drive about 9 a.m.
They said heavy smoke and flames were showing from the rear of the home.
The fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes.
Fire damage was contained to the rear of the home and roof structure, but smoke and heat damage were present throughout, firefighters said.
No one was hurt in the fire.
The cause is under investigation by the SJCFR Fire Marshals Office.
