JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

An Arlington home was destroyed by fire late Monday morning.

Heavy flames were coming from the roof of the home in the 5000 block of Cinancy Court, off University Boulevard North in Charter Point, when firefighters arrived about 11 a.m.

Part of the roof collapsed after the fire chief ordered all firefighters out of the home. The fire was put out in about an hour.

No firefighters were hurt and no residents were home at the time.

Firefighters said it's too early in their investigation to identify the cause of the fire. The State Fire Marshal's Office was investigating.

Neighbors told 911 dispatchers the fire was initially seen coming from the garage of the one-story, 3,000-square-foot home.

The estimated damage of the fire was more than $400,000.

Firefighters were able to prevent other nearby homes from being damaged.
