Jacksonville Brotherhood Of Firefighters To Help Those Less Fortunate
Published On: Oct 31 2011 05:47:09 PM EDT Updated On: Nov 25 2009 05:38:42 AM ESTThe Jacksonville Brotherhood of Firefighters (JBOF) is sharing the Thanksgiving holiday with others by providing a free Thanksgiving eve dinner to those who otherwise might not have one.
JBOF will prepare and serve a traditional turkey dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Kris-Tee's Fine Dining, 1850 N Main St. in Jacksonville.
"More families this year are experiencing financial hardships and struggling to maintain household bills. Many families will be turning to charities for support." said Dominique Brown with JBOF.
With names of families provided by various local agencies, the JBOF wants to ensure that no one misses the chance to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner or to share the holiday with others.
The JBOF is a non-profit organization of professional active and retired firefighters. Its members are involved in numerous community activities throughout the year. This year marks the 4th consecutive year of the JBOF helping families with holiday meals for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. They have fed more than 500 families to date.
For more information, you can call the Brotherhood of Firefighters at 904-234-6496 or find them online at http://www.jbof.org.
