JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

This year's Jacksonville's Fireworks Spectacular will be bigger, better and higher than ever before.

Tom Wills and Mary Bear will host the broadcast coverage -- 8-10 p.m. -- from the Southbank. In addition to the fireworks, the program will honor this great nation along with the brave men and women serving in the military.

The Channel 4 news team will deploy along both sides of St. Johns River reporting on the events and giving the best view of the fireworks the River City has to offer.

Viewers will see:

  • A tour of the fireworks barge to find out what it takes to light of the night sky.
  • A veteran who's turned to the K9s for Warriors program to help him deal with the physical and emotional scars of war.
  • Put Jacksonville to the test with a Star-Spangled trivia challenge featuring questions like: Do you know how many stripes are on the American flag?
  • Find out which lucky military man or woman will win and overnight trip to Disney World for their family, thanks to the Law Firm of Farah and Farah. (Vote now)
  • One Facebook fan of The Local Station will win a $500 gift certificate courtesy of Circle K Furniture.

The fun and tributes start at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
