OCALA, Fla. -

Authorities say a north Florida man threatening to kill his wife and himself was shot twice by a sheriff's deputy.

Marion County Sheriff's Office spokesman Judge Cochran says the Ocala man pointed a gun at a deputy who arrived at the couple's home Sunday evening.

Cochran tells the Ocala Star-Banner that the man's name and condition were not immediately available.

No one else was injured in the shooting.

Cochran says the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is taking over the investigation.
