The Flagler County Sheriff's Office reported 13 smash-and-grab robberies over the weekend.
Deputies said thieves smashed windows to steal purses, wallets, bags and whatever else they could find inside.
Some of the robberies happened at beachfront parks or on roads with waterfront parking. Three vehicles were targeted Saturday night during a dance recital at Flagler Auditorium.
Thieves targeted cars with laptops visible, bags, cellphones and checkbooks, deputies said.
Investigators said other interstate communities throughout northeast Florida are experiencing this increase in car burglaries. They said criminals are also targeting vehicles parked at restaurants and shopping areas.
Deputies advise removing bags and other valuables when parking your vehicle.
