Former Jaguar hosts Father's Day sports camp
One hundred fathers and their kids joined former Jaguars star Donovin Darius at EverBank Field Saturday for his Father's Day Sports Camp.
The loudest cheering of the day came from many of the kids, but the biggest immediate impact seemed to be on the dads—exactly what Darius wanted from his Father's Day camp.

"It's a wonderful day, wonderful accomplishment when you get a hundred something fathers together," Darius said. "Understand the purpose of fatherhood, celebrating fatherhood with the family, it's absolutely amazing."
Darryl Laster brought his son to the camp and said he appreciated Darius' mission for the day.
"He had a very educational message about fatherhood that I felt was vitally important to hear," Laster said.
To be sure the campers didn't just get a lecture about fathering from Darius, a father of three, the camp put fathering into action by giving dads a little time with their sons and daughters. They were all treated to a stadium tour, a special appearance by the Jaguars cheerleaders, T-shirts and photos, a kids combine and a speed and agility clinic.
"It means a lot to provide these types of things to the communities," sports camp attendee Mike Eddins said. "To be able to spend time with my son, in this type of format means a lot to him and me, as well."
It also meant a lot to Darius.
"So we can encourage, build up, teach, train fathers how to be fathers, and how to walk with each other," he said. "Man, we're raising a generation of world changers."
