Former NFL player regrets injuring teammate
Lomas Brown apologized on radio show
A former NFL player is apologizing after admitting he let one of his teammates get injured during a game almost 20 years ago.
Lomas Brown is now an analyst for ESPN, but played for the Detroit Lions as well as several other teams. In a radio interview last week, he said he purposely missed a block so struggling Lions quarterback Scott Mitchell would get hurt in a 1994 game.
Mitchell ended up with a broken finger after that play. He heard the comments Brown made, and says he's floored by Brown's actions.
Brown received criticism from other players, as well as his colleagues at ESPN. He later apologized for the play, saying he regrets what he did, although he did not at the time.
