A Gainesville woman was charged with stealing U.S. Treasury checks and forging them, the Department of Justice said Friday.
Regina Ward, 31, is accused of stealing the checks, transferring the names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth of five people. She is also accused of having five or more identities, according to U.S. Attorney Robert E. O'Neill.
Ward is charged with identity theft, fraud against the U.S. and Treasury check fraud. If convicted, she faces up to 30 years in prison.
