Florida Gov. Rick Scott has welcomed an international information technology and product engineering company to Gainesville.
Scott participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday for MindTree Ltd.'s first delivery center in the United States. The company so far has hired 47 employees and is expected to create a total of 400 new jobs over the next five years.
Mindtree is co-headquartered in Warren, N.J., and Bangalore, India. It plans to spend $2.9 million in capital outlay on the Gainesville facility.
The delivery center is Mindtree's first outside India. It is part of the company's strategy to broaden its information technology and consulting offerings in the United States.
