Investigators say a 62-year old Great Lakes area man drowned trying to save his grandson in the ocean ... off Atlantic Beach ... It happened this afternoon at Hanna Park. Police say a 10-year old boy was screaming for help his grandfather rushed into the water to rescue him ... and found himself in trouble. Several people jumped in to help the little boy is ok but his grandfather didn't make it. Channel 4's Hailey Winslow spoke to the people who raced to their rescue, She joins us now LIVE ... John tells us rip currents in the area were moderate at the time -- which means rip currents can STILL exist even when conditions aren't considered dangerous. The waves were about 2 to 3 feet and the wind was 5 to 15 miles per hour.
