Good news is no one was injured. 3 But certainly some tense moments for the employees inside who were preparing to open the bowling alley. Firefighters say a grease fire caused significant damage to the kitchen area and the roof. Two people were treated here at the scene for smoke inhalation -- no one was taken to the hospital.Sunrise Surf Shop sits next door to the Beach Bowling Alley.Managers told us when they arrived this morning, they saw employees running out of the building. 3 193507-28 It was like four employees -- one of the girls was working in the snack bar and I talked to her out back. She said she turned her back for one second and heard a pow and grease was shooting all over the wall and fire was coming out of the snack bar. She said she turned the sprinkler on but it didn't get rid of the fire -- she said they started inhaling smoke so they had to leave. Again, those folks were treated here at the scene and then released.Ironically, fire crews responded to an electrical fire this morning at a catering shop across the street.No one was injured.None of the fires are suspicious.
