And when the temperatures dip, more people are forced to dip into their pockets and pay those larger electric bills. Homeowners will be getting them soon. Channel 4's Elizabeth Campbell spoke to JEA about the dollar sign you can expect to see on your January bill. She joins us now live... Because of that, you can expect your next bill from JEA to be more expensive. SOT - 5621 we know theres a direct correlation between the temperature and your heat and the amount of energy you use so your bills will be higher the ones your getting right now TRACK - JEA spokeswoman Gerri Boyce says bills for January are beginning to be sent out and they don't want customers to be alarmed.PRE PRO So far this month, JEA's electric system production is up 24.94 percent from January of last year. Every degree adds more to your bill so if you keep it at 72 opposed to 68, your bill will be about 20 percent more. Last January the first 23 days only had 2 that were in the 30's -- compared to this years 13.TRACK - Boyce says to ensure your bill isn't a surprise, look at the utility tracker on JEA.com.
