Hundreds Attend Somer's Sunshine Run

ORANGE PARK, Fla -

Hundreds of runners participated in the first ever Somer Sunshine Run Saturday morning. The event is a fundraiser for the Somer Thompson Foundation.

The run included a 5K and a one mile family fun run and walk and started at the Orange Park Town Hall.

In addition to the run, there was face painting, bounce houses and a silent auction.

There was a silent auction to raise money for the foundation.

Somer Thompson, 7, was found dead in a Georgia landfill after disappearing while walking home from school in the Grove Park area.

The Somer Thompson Foundation was set up in her honor to help the families of victims of child abduction resulting in death.
