Hundreds turn out for Dance Marathon
Helps raise money for Children's Miracle Network
Hundreds of movers and shakers avoided sitting down for 13.1 hours and opted to dance for a good cause Saturday.
The Dance Marathon helped raise money for the Children's Miracle Network, an organization that helps pay for equipment and toys for children's hospitals nationwide, including Wolfson Children's Hospital and the pediatric units at Shands Jacksonville.
Everyone who came out to EverBank Field donated $10.
Jacksonville is just one of five cities to participate in a city-wide marathon.
"So, we're on our feet dancing and standing and raising money for the kids," said organizer Brittany Zur. "There's Zumba, and lots of kids just coming to hang out with us. The miracle stories will be shown. There will be line dancing, salsa, just so much fun entertainment."
Organizers hoped to raise between $10,000-$30,000.
