I-95 sex, gun assault case resolved

Prosecutors have resolved their case against a Nassau County couple who was spotted having sex in a car on Interstate 95.

The couple was accused of confronting another couple who had seen them.

In September, 28-year-old Ernest Gonzales and 31-year-old Suzanne Welker were charged with indecent exposure and assault.

Prosecutors had said the couple followed the other couple who was watching them, and pulled a gun on them.

Gonzales pleaded no contest to reckless driving and was sentenced to six months probation and 25 hours of community service.

Charges were dropped against Welker, and a charge of improper exhibition of a firearm was also dismissed.
