A jackknifed tractor-trailer closed several lanes of Interstate 95 north of Emerson Street for about four hours Saturday morning, causing a traffic nightmare for motorists.
State troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said 44-year-old Charles Brisbin, of Springfield, Ga., was driving a semi-truck about 6:40 a.m. when he swerved to avoid a vehicle in front of him that lost control in the rain.
Brisbon's truck then jackknifed across the northbound lanes.
Troopers said Brisbon was taken to Baptist Medical Center with minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.
The crash caused about 30 gallons of fuel to spill on the roadway, which firefighters cleaned up.
The lanes were reopened just before 11 a.m. Saturday.
