It looks like Olympic swimming hopefuls will not be competing in Jacksonville for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team in 2016.
City officials had placed a bid to hold the U.S. swimming trials at Veterans Memorial Arena.
But the city has now withdrawn that bid.
If Jacksonville was selected, a pool would have been built in the arena.
City officials say they've pulled out of the competition for 2016 because Jacksonville's arena wouldn't have as much seating as venues in other cities that are competing for the trials.
