Jaguars Add DL To Roster
Sign Defensive End From Arizona Cardinals
Published On: Oct 14 2011 11:59:46 AM EDT Updated On: Dec 11 2009 01:09:16 PM ESTThe Jacksonville Jaguars signed first-year defensive end Chris Harrington off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad to their roster today. The club waived first-year defensive back Kennard Cox.
Harrington, 6-5, 260, was originally selected by Arizona in the sixth round of the 2008 draft and spent time on the club?s practice squad as a rookie. The 24-year-old was signed by Cincinnati to the active roster on December 10 and played in three games for the Bengals. He was waived on final cuts by the Bengals in September 6, 2009 and signed by the Cardinals to their practice squad two days later.
A native of Houston, Harrington was a four-year letterman at Texas A&M. He finished his career with 156 tackles, 15 sacks and 25 tackles for loss, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors as a junior. He attended St. Pius X High School in Houston where he led the team to a state championship in 1999.
Cox has played in three games for the Jaguars this season and spent nine weeks on the club?s practice squad.
