The Jaguars' regular-season opener Sunday against the Tennessee Titans will be televised in the Jacksonville area.
There are tickets remaining for the game, but enough tickets have been sold to avert a television blackout, team officials said, and ticket sales are expected to continue through Sunday. The game will be televised on CBS.
Kickoff at EverBank Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. The game will also air live on WOKV AM and FM (690, 106.5) and the Jaguars Radio Network.
The Jaguars said the blackout was avoided because the team sold about 2,500 tickets in the last 24 hours and because more than 1,400 tickets were bought and donated to United Service Organizations Inc. in the last three days.
Jaguars Vice President of Sales and Marketing Macky Weaver said the team did not buy any of the remaining tickets.
"The fact of the matter is, if we don't sell those remaining 1,500, the team -- basically when you've committed to the game being on TV, you're committing that all those tickets would be sold. So there is a possibility that we would have to buy tickets," Weaver said.
The 1,500 tickets left that Weaver is referring to are still available on Jaguars.com beginning at $60 per ticket. Touchdown Club tickets are still available beginning at $170 per ticket.
Fans can purchase tickets by calling 904-633-2000 or 1-877-4-JAGS-TIX (option 4), or by visiting the Jaguars main ticket office on the west side of EverBank Field. The ticket office will be open until 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday, the game day ticket office will open at 10 a.m. between gates two and three.
