Jax City Council members grumbled about raise for Paul Anderson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Jacksonville Port Authority CEO Paul Anderson is the lead candidate for the job of port director in Tampa.

The Tampa Port Authority could make a decision as soon as Tuesday.

In September, the JaxPort Board of Directors approved a 5 percent pay raise and $50,000 bonus for Anderson.

His salary was to go to $336,000, but it was tabled by the board after some members of the City Council complained about the raise.

Anderson has since become the lead candidate for the Tampa job.
