A jogger is in serious but stable condition after being struck by an SUV early Wednesday morning.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, 40-year-old Valerie Perry, of North Carolina, was running in the 80th block of Ponte Vedra Boulevard in the roadway about 5:50 a.m. when she was hit by a SUV headed northbound.
Perry was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center.
The driver of the SUV, 51-year-old William Driscoll, of Jacksonville, was not hurt.
Deputies are investigating the crash.
