For the second time this week .. a pedestrian is hit on a Jacksonville road. This time it was a female jogger .. hit by a car head-on. It happened on Kernan Boulevard yesterday while the woman .. and a man who was with her .. were training for a marathon. The male jogger spoke with Channel 4's Tarik Minor who is joining us from the newsroom .. Tarik, how badly was the woman injured? 3 3 3 Acording to this police report, 20 year Sabrina Bunn's injuries are serious but we checked with the hospital and have learned she remains in stable condition. We spoke with the man who she was running with - when the accident happened. He says he was able to dodge the car at the last second, but his partner was blindsided. 3 00-0520-2502:15:36"the car hit her straight forward, right in front of us, hit her from the front."It happened in slow motion according to runner Tripp Prevatt who says he was jogging alongside old 20-YEAR OLD Sabrina Bunn, training for an upcoming marathon. He says as he and Bunn tried to cross the merge lanes onto the Kernan Boulevard overpass, when a car hit Bunn headon. 02:16:00"absolutely terrifying, i've been hit by a car, and I've seen someone get hit by a car, i'd like to be hit than to see it, it doesn't get out of your head.'Prevatt says Bunn was knocked unconscious but regained consciousness before paramedics arrived.JSO officers say the driver of the car, didn't see the two joggers dressed in bright clothing at 6pm in the evening. 02:17:17"whenever he cut over he said, I didn't' see you guys and we were like, we didn't see you either, we were just running."STANDUP 02:23:18"Prevatt says the impact threw the 20 year old joger several feet in the opposite direction, along this road, and he says she was injured further, when her head hit the pavement."A hospital spokesperson tells Channel 4 that Bunn is listed in stable condition, Prevatt says he's learned a life lesson about the dangers of the road. 02:19:10"expect the unexpected, always be vigilant, always be looking out, no where is safe."02:19:20"regardless if your on the sidewalk, something could happen, in the middle of the road, or even walkinig to your car out here, no where is safe." 3 Prevatt says he going to run the upcoming marathon in honor of Sabrina Bunn who remains in the hospital.. 3 Any decision yet on any charges? The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office hasn't filed charges against the driver yet and say this is an ongoing investigation.
