A jury recommended on Monday that a man who killed an Albanian immigrant should face the death penalty.
Last week, a jury convicted Kevin Scott of first-degree murder. Scott killed 44-year-old Kristo Binjaku in 2007.
Binjaku's 13-year-old son saw his father killed in a Laundromat on Toledo Road -- one of three jobs Binjaku worked to support his family.
Binjaku had been a police officer in his home country before coming to the United States and to Jacksonville.
The same jury that convicted Scott of murder spent 90 minutes deliberating his punishment. With a 9-3 vote they recommended Scott be executed.
