Kitten Rescued From Under Car On I-95
Woman Says She Saw Kitten Under Car In Front Of Her

But the car wasn't sitting in traffic or a parking lot. It was going 70 mph on Interstate 95.
"It had two little arms and a head. I'm like, 'Oh my God, that's a live cat under there,'" said Amy Jones, who rescued the kitten, later named Axel.
Jones said she later found out the car carrying the kitten had just left a rest stop in St. Johns County and was heading south.
That's when Jones drove up alongside the car and got the driver's attention.
"I'm like, 'Listen, you got to stop. You have a live cat underneath your car,'" Jones said.
The car finally stopped, and another Good Samaritan crawled under the car and pulled out the cat.

Jones then took Axel to the Animal Medical Clinic in World Golf Village.
"Immediately, as soon as I walk through the door, the vet grabbed the cat and was running to the back with it, and they were so, so attentively trying to help the cat," Jones said.
"They brought him here, wanted to know if we could fix him," said Dr. Kevin Russell, the veterinarian who worked on Axel. "And we said, 'Sure, we'll try to fix him and find him a home.'"
Russell and his staff said they're used to helping stray animals until they find a home.
Russell said Axel should be back to normal in a few weeks.
"Very amazing he survived," he said. "Just luck that he didn't fall off and get smushed on the freeway, so that's actually what saved him, was that he was stuck on the axel itself."
"I love animals," Jones said. "I've always had a passion for animals, so it was just like, I have to do something. You can't just ride down the road and see a cat under a car and not do anything."
