Lake City police looking for 3 home invasion robbers
3 men wearing ski masks break in at 2:30 a.m. Sunday
Three men wearing ski masks broke into a Lake City home early Sunday morning, ordered residents to the ground and pistol-whipped a man before ransacking the home and taking off, according to the Lake City Police Department.
Two victims said the men forced their way into their home about 2:30 a.m. and ordered them to the ground while they began to search the house. Police said a third victim in another room woke up and began fighting with one of the robbers, who struck him with a pistol. That victim was treated and released at an area hospital.
Several items were taken by the robbers, who left before police arrived.
Because of the ski masks, police do not have a good description of the robbers. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was evaluating several items of evidence.
Anyone with information about the home invasion robbery is asked to call the Lake City Police Department anonymously on the TIP line at 386-719-2068.
