Lake City woman missing since Jan. 5 returns safe

LAKE CITY, Fla. -

A 49-year-old Lake City woman who walked away from her home before dawn Jan. 5 has returned safely.

Betty Ann Hicks' reported her sister missing that afternoon, and her sister told police that unconfirmed reports last placed Hicks at U.S. Highway 129 and Interstate 75 walking north.

Hicks sister again called police last Thursday to report her sister had returned home on her own and was safe.

No other information was released by the family behind the sudden disappearance.
