JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The last person convicted in connection to a murder-conspiracy case within the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was sentenced Tuesday.

James Swift Jr. (pictured, left) was sentenced to seven years and three months for his role in a group that committed murder, theft and drug dealing.

Swift is the brother-in-law of former Officer Karl Waldon, who was sentenced last week to a life sentence for crimes including the murder of a northside businessman.

Swift pleaded guilty and testified against Waldon, saying he helped the officer kidnap and rob Sami Safar as he left a bank with $51,000 to be used to cash checks at his convenience stores.
