BlackFinn American Grille wants you to have a savory summer. So they put together some guidelines for making delicious hamburgers for every occasion.

1. THE CREATIVITY
Have fun and explore with new flavors – herbs and spices go a long way, both inside the meat and with the ingredients that you use to top the burger – try new cheeses, veggies and sauces
Have fun and try a new bun – or use two slices of your favorite bread

2. THE BUN
Regardless of bun or bread – there are two golden rules
Always make sure that you use a fresh-baked bun
Make sure that you toast or grill it – a solid surface will prevent it from getting soggy from the burger juices

3. THE MEAT
Freshly-ground beef is key – ask your butcher to grind it for you to ensure a fresh, flavorful patty - an 80/20 mix is usually a good blend for a juicy burger
Make sure that your meat is cold when you handle it – it will keep the fat and the juices on the meat instead of your hand - don’t overwork the meat

4. THE HEAT
Make sure that you allow plenty of time for your grill or cast iron skillet to pre-heat – a hot surface will ensure that you sear the meat and keep all those juices on the inside of your burger

5. THE TOOLS
ALWAYS use a spatula or tongs to handle the burger – never a fork – to make sure that you don’t pierce the meat and lose the juices
