A 46-year-old Jacksonville man was struck by a car and killed late Friday night, according to Jacksonville police.

James Bond Davis was trying to cross Avenue B at Brooklyn Road in Northwest Jacksonville at about 11:30 p.m. when a car traveling south on Avenue B hit him, police said.

Officers said Davis walked into the road as the car was approaching the intersection.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
