A 49-year-old Palatka man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Putnam County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers said Scott Conley was driving his pickup truck southbound on State Road 19 at about 9:45 p.m. They said that after he passed another vehicle, he lost control and drove onto the west shoulder of the road.
Troopers said Conley drove into the wood line west of a ditch and struck several trees. The truck began to overturn, and Conley was thrown from the vehicle, troopers said. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Conley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said blood alcohol content results are pending.
