A 55-year-old Jacksonville man was convicted Thursday afternoon in the 2011 death of another man.
Antonio Garrett was found guilty of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in the killing of 46-year-old Jerry Ford.
In September 2011, Garrett and Ford got into an argument. Garrett left the area and then returned with a handgun.
Garrett then walked up to Ford, who was on his front porch, and shot seven times -- hitting Ford three times.
Ford died from his injuries at a hospital.
Garrett now faces mandatory life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of Feb. 25.
