JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of a motorist who was struck by a stray bullet.

Analiza Gobaton, 41, a mother of three, was waiting in traffic in her SUV on Blanding Boulevard at 103rd Street on Friday morning when she was shot in the head, causing her vehicle to crash into another. Gobaton died Sunday at a hospital.

Taurice Brown has been charged in the killing.

Police said a witness told them Brown went to his house in the 6100 block of Transylvania Avenue, about 125 yards east of Blanding Boulevard, and got into an argument with another man.

Police said Brown pulled out a gun and began shooting at the man, identified by police as Wiggins, who was in his car and began to drive away.

The witness told police there was also a passenger in Brown's car who also shot at the man. That person is still unidentified.

Police said the witness identified Brown from a photo spread. Police said several other witnesses at the scene were interviewed and reported that at least one man was shooting at a car as it was traveling west on Transylvania Avenue toward Blanding Boulevard.

Wiggins told police he went to the witness' home to sell cocaine to the witness, police said. Police said that during the transaction, Wiggins told them, a silver Buick drove into the witness' driveway.

Police said Wiggins told them he and Brown spoke with each other, and as he began to drive away, Brown, who police said was the driver of the Buick, began shooting at him.

Wiggins continued driving away as he was being shot at, police said. Wiggins told police he did not know Brown and could not identify him.

Police said Wiggins' vehicle was shot in the rear quarter panel and taillight.

Brown was arrested and booked into the Pretrial Detention Facility.

Viewings for Gobaton will be held Thursday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with Rosary at 6 p.m. at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., in Orange Park.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Blvd.

Gobaton was driving to the church for morning Mass and an award ceremony for her two oldest children, who attend school there, when she was shot two blocks from the church.
